Go around the world and ask for a cabernet: you will get a cabernet sauvignon. Walk into an osteria in Friuli and you get Cabernet Franc. The nuances of language, homonymy, tradition, gathered in a word to which nothing more needs to be added. Whether 'Franc' stands for frank, in the sense of straightforward, or rather denotes French origins does not matter. Even this vine, after having travelled, has found in Friuli people capable of welcoming it and leading it towards maturity.

Blackcurrant leaves and cassis compete for the primacy of the bouquet with a heady violet scent. The palate is elegant and suave, with understated elegance as the main feature. The flavour of perfectly ripe fruit cake comes through, along with cassis and bramble, cedar spice and a delicious subtle succulence that contributes to the warm and comforting texture.

Notes of graphite, earthy aromas, with a subtle note of blackcurrant leaves on red fruits and blueberries. The palate gives pure red berry fruit. It is succulent, soft and wonderfully smooth and refined with a well-balanced and lively woody note.
