Vetrère "Taranta Rosato Salento PGI 2023 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.25 £ (+0.69 £)The tradition of the great rosés of Puglia is renewed in this bottle proposed by Vetrére. A classic blend of two grape varieties typical of the region, such as Negroamaro and Malvasia. Grapes that are not afraid of hot climates but, on the contrary, can give life to wines with great personality in ideal conditions. Processing is simple but accurate. Everything is done with a view to minimizing the contact of the must with oxygen, in order to preserve the freshness of the most delicate aromas. After delivery to the winery, the grapes are soon pressed and sent to ferment in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After reaching the right degree of pink, the wine is simply kept, in steel, resting on its lees (the French would say "sur lies") for a period of about 2 months. The result is a wine characterized by a magnificent cherry-pink colour with brilliant reflections. The nose is amazing for its obvious hints of red fruit and ripe cherry. In the mouth, however, it proves to be above all a fresh and lively wine. A balanced rosé that can give a lot of satisfaction at the table.

Losito e Guarini "C'era una Volta" Moscato Dolce IGT Provincia Pavia - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 0.89 £ (+0.69 £)Once upon a time, there was Muscat. And luckily there still is. Especially the good ones, like this one proposed by Losito & Guarini. Province of Pavia PGI, this aromatic white wine is produced from Moscato bianco grapes that grow around the 45th parallel, which is halfway between the North Pole and the equator. After harvesting, which is done by hand, the grapes are taken to the winery to undergo the classic pressing and cryo-maceration process to preserve all the subtle aromas of the fruit. This is followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts, and an ageing phase always in thermo-conditioned steel. Before being bottled, the wine is sent through a second phase of natural fermentation in an autoclave to make it pleasantly petillant. Intense straw yellow, with greenish reflections, the nose reveals all the goodness of its varietal, with delicate scents that recall acacia flowers and honey, but also peach, apricot and citrus. In the mouth it is sweet but balanced. Pleasantly fresh, it is the wine to pair with grandma's classic apple pie.

Gérard Bertrand "Côte des Roses" Pinot Noir 2021 IGP - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.32 £ (+0.69 £)Pays d'Oc PGI, this Pinot Noir is part of Gérard Bertrand's Côte des Roses line. Pinot Noir, it is worth remembering, is considered one of the noblest vines in the world, but also one of the most difficult to work with and to make the most of. In order to obtain wines of extraordinary finesse, as in this case, it is necessary to have a great deal of experience, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. In this case, the grapes are harvested at the end of September, when they are perfectly ripe. In the vineyard, the yield is deliberately kept low to obtain a good concentration of aromas and elegant tannins. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed before being placed in steel tanks for the maceration phase, which continues for about 10-15 days. Constant pressing and pumping over are essential to extract the best colour and aromas from the grapes. At the end of the transformation, the wine is partially aged in barriques for a few months, until it reaches the desired aromatic complexity, always respecting the fruit and elegance of the vine. 100% Pinot Noir from the highest and coolest vineyards in the region, the nose offers notes of fresh fruit, such as black cherry, wild raspberry and spices. Delicate and fine, it is round and fruity in the mouth. A wine to enjoy from a young age, with a velvety texture and beautiful breadth. The tannins are silky, while the finish is elegant and balanced. Excellent with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses, it goes well with meat dishes. Perfect with roasts and the classic grilled chicken.

M. Chapoutier La Combe Pilate IGP Collines Rhodaniennes 2021 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 20.00 £ (+0.69 £)Combe Pilate, produced by Maison M. Chapoutier, is a wine belonging to the PGI Collines Rhodaniennes, in the beautiful Rhone Valley. This region is famous for its geological diversity that favours the production of high quality wines. The Collines Rhodaniennes enjoy a moderate continental climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, which allow the grapes to ripen slowly and steadily, thus preserving freshness and acidity. 100% Chasselas, a lesser-known but very interesting white grape variety. Probably originating in Switzerland, over time it has also spread to some regions of France. Appreciated for its ability to produce fresh and aromatic wines, it is distinguished by notes of fruit and flowers that faithfully reflect the terroir from which it comes. In this case, the whole bunches are pressed to obtain a must fior fermentation. Maturation on the lees, with stirring of the lees every two months, lasts 8-9 months and adds complexity and body to the wine, without overpowering its fruity and floral aromas. Pale gold in colour with delicate green hues, on the nose the wine reveals a delicate bouquet of white flowers with subtle citric nuances. In the mouth it is fresh and 'thirst quenching', with a good balance between acidity and savouriness. Notes of white-fleshed fruit, such as pear and apple, integrate perfectly, giving a nice savoury finish. Perfect with fish and seafood dishes. It goes well with sea bass, scallops and asparagus risotto.
