The importance of this manuscript is that it shows the roll of Mara Ylamateuhtli Marcelino de Mendoza, recognized by Hernan Cortes as the queen of Cholula, in the betrayal and fallen of her husband Quetzalcoatzin under the European conquering forces. The Codex gives an account of the conquest of this sacred reign, its colonial reconstruction and the coronation of Ylamateuhtli, its palace and linage.
