Second, he considers how and when teachershelp social studies students utilize cultural knowledge and critical inquiry todo the authentic work of civics. Dr. Magill’s most recent scholarly worksinclude “The primacy of relation: Social studies teachers and the praxis ofcritical pedagogy” with Professor Cinthia Salinas and “Critically civic teacherperception, posture and pedagogy: Negating civic archetypes” published in Theoryand Research in Social Education and The Journal of Social Studies Researchrespectively. He also published a co-edited book with ProfessorArturo Rodriguez recently called, Imagining Education: Beyond the Logicof Global Neoliberal Capitalism.
