Barcelona & Catalunya 1:12.5K/1:900K ITMB Map 2015**
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 27.47 $Scale . 1:12,500 / 1:900,000 This new edition of Barcelona not only updates an already excellent city map, it relates it to its surrounding hinterland. It is not a secret that the area surrounding Barcelona, called Catalunya, has long laboured a strong desire to separate from Spain (the adjacent Basque region has also coveted independence for as long as I can remember). Our regional map extends beyond the strict boundaries of the province/pseudo independent state of Catalunya and is actually a very good map of the east coast of Spain as far as south as Valencia, but let's not split hairs. This is an excellent map for anyone visiting the Barcelona area, showing the heart of the city in immaculate detail and providing ample mapping assistance for anyone travelling to nearby urban areas comprising most of the touristic sights and places of interest. Map insets: * A detailed map of ciutat Vella district - the city centre (1:7,500 scale) * A map of La Barceloneta district including all of its narrow streets and the famous beach (1:6000 scale) * A Barcelona metro map Model: 9781553411284 Shipping Weight: 0.08kgs Manufactured by: ITMB Publishing Ltd.

Uruguay / Montevideo Travel Reference 1:800K/1:10K ITMB
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 20.37 $This edition is significantly altered in its updated form to justify a fresh ISBN. Most of the changes are more technical than visual, although the style of the map appears different as a result. Most of the changes occur on the Montevideo side of the sheet, thanks to our reasonably recent visit to the city. Uruguay is one of those smallish but nice places to visit. The interior is mostly ranching country, but pleasant to see. Colonia, across from Buenos Aires, is well worth a visit and Punte del Este on the Atlantic shore is the local Miami Beach. For my money, the best thing about Montevideo is the old Coca Cola fountain shop right out of the 1920s. It s like moving back in time!

Laos Travel Reference Map 1:750,000 ITM
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 38.86 $After a number of years, ITMB is pleased to re-introduce Laos as a country map instead of as a map shared with Cambodia at a less generous scale. ITMB actually first published map of this country in 1996, so this map is the second edition of Laos for bibliographic purposes, but none of our staff except myself were around in those days, so they accidentally thought this was our first effort. Sorry about that, libraries. For those who care, the original ISBN was 0921463928 and at that time, Lan was just arriving in Canada to take charge of our cartographic production. Anyway, we're very pleased to introduce you to this new, double-sided, map at a great scale, with fantastic detail. To me, the north side is the most interesting, covering the portion of Laos from Vientiane, the capital, to the Chinese border. Detailed inset maps of Vientiane and Louang Prabang, the temple city, are included on this side, as are bits of both Thailand and Vietnam. The south portion fills the other side of the sheet, including a goodly portion of Vietnam, showing all border crossings. Much of Thailand has had to be obscured, unfortunately, to make room for the place names index, but the immediate border areas are shown, including the rail line south from Vientiane. In an interesting departure from previous ITMB maps, the back cover consists of a detailed inset map of Vientiane at 1:16,000 scale, making it easy to use in the city without having to unfold the map sheet. Laos, as a country, has an exceptionally rich history, with the exotic Plain of Jars, the enormous temples, and in its involvement in the Vietnam War. This is a country well worth a visit and now it has a map enticing everyone to visit!

England / Wales 1:580K 2015: ITM
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 29.03 $ITMB publishes a map of Great Britain, but each portion of GB needs its own map to show roads and attractions in more detail. This is a brilliant map of both England and Wales, showing the entire 'country' in a double-sided format. The place names index is formidable, but England in particular is a series of little villages, so it has been very difficult to decide what to include and what to leave out. This map is showing motorways, divided carriageways, all A & B highways, railway lines, airports, historic sites and touristic attractions, parks and gardens, and just about everything that we could fir on to the page to provide users with a detailed, usable map. We have been able to fit all of southern England/Wales as fair north as Chester/Lincoln on side A and with a little overlap, from those cities north to the well over the Scottish border, up to Perth/Dundee filling side B. The isle of Man and much of Northern Ireland are included as well as a bonus, with an inset map showing the Channel Islands and another in set showing central London. Apologies if we omitted something crucial; please advise. This is a brand new map, replacing the artwork we used in the past. Scotland was done as a double-sided map using the same data base and was released a couple of months ago. This is an excellent map for touring all of England/Wales.

Germany Southern itm r/v (r)
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 26.37 $Although ITMB marketed a map for the southern portion of Germany for several years, it was licensed artwork from a firm that no longer publishes. We have now developed our own data base for Germany, of which this is our first title, so this is brand new artwork, not an update. The area of coverage is from Koln (Cologne) in the north to the Swiss/Austrian borders in the south and east, and from the Rhine River in the west to Passau in the east. There is very little space left over to show surrounding countries, but Aachen, Strasbourg, Basel, and Salzburg are noted on the map. This is the first of three detailed maps that will cover Germany in detail without concentrating on state-focused political divisions that mean little to non-Germans. We have also simplified road classifications, using bluish violet for motorways as this colour stands out, green for major highways and white for connecting roads. Germany is Europe s most densely populated country and is loaded with historic town centres (called Aldstadts), cathedrals, castles, walled towns, and medieval buildings. For this edition, we have noted what seem to us to be the most noteworthy and look forward to adding other treasures as our travels take us further into this fascinating land. The next title in the series, East Germany and Berlin, is already at press, and the third, Northern Germany, is still a work in progress.

1. Denver and Colorado Travel Reference Map 1:10,000/1:750,000
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 32.42 $This is a brand new title for ITMB. Denver, the mile-high city on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, is a vibrant, fairly modern city. It is the state capital, and the gold-coated dome of the legislative building highlights the wealth and strength of the state. The Denver Zoo is becoming one of the great attractions of the city, as are the Center for Performing Arts and the Museum of Science and Nature. Larimer Square is the focal point for entertainment, and Coors Field for sports. Our map shows a wide-ranging number of accommodations and eateries, and notes all points of interest. The State of Colorado map fills the reverse side of the sheet and, due to the positioning of the state s boundaries, nicely fills the 40x28 sheet size of the map. Small portions of neighbouring states show around the edges, but the focal point is definitely north-south Interstate 25 and east-west Interstate 70. Denver is, by far, the largest urban area in the state, but other familiar cities show well Boulder, Colorado Springs, the ski resort of Vail, Kit Carson s home town of Burlington, and the old mining town of Silverton. The map shows all motorways and highways and, as far as we can determine, every road going anywhere. Hundreds of wilderness campsites are shown, as well as RV parks, parks, ancient ruins, and natural features. Map size: 27x39 inches

Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan & Tajikistan Travel Reference
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 31.87 $Finally, our ITMB map of Uzbekistan is back in print! Tourism to the Stans is increasing as these former parts of the Soviet Empire find their way in a changing world. This time, we have combined the country with the two other Stans on one side, which makes sense given their shape; then, on the reverse side, we have expanded the artwork to show Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to good advantage. The map also includes excellent inset maps of Samarkand, Tashkent, Dushanbe, and Bishkek, which I m sure all are familiar names. Needless to say, all three countries count as adventure travel. Facilities are good in major cities, but roads are of an uncertain quality, and accommodations sparse. Still, this is an exceptionally interesting part of the world. The traditional Great Silk Road passed through this region, and to this day Tashkent is a major trading transfer point. Nine points of major interest are included, including the Ark-Citadel dating from 400BC, the Minaret of Kalta-Minor, and the great Caravanserai from the Middle Ages.

Africa South & Central Travel Reference Map 1:2.2M/3.4M
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 31.49 $This title is in our series of regional titles for Africa at 1:3,400,000 scale. All of Africa is available as a continental sheet at 1:5M scale and as regional titles at 1:3.8M and 1:3.4M, based on GIS data. This is a milestone for ITMB and the realization of a dream that began in 1993. However, the work is still only in its early stages. This map covers that portion of the continent that old Africa hands always referred to as 'central', meaning the Rhodesias and Nyasaland now known as Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. By its shape, generous portions of the southern portions of DEM Congo, the eastern third of Angola, the northern half of Mozambique, and Botswana's Okavunga Delta are included on the one side. The second side covers South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, the rest of Botswana, and southern Namibia in great detail. This is an excellent map for anyone visiting the larger region of the southern third of Africa. As with our other regional titles, this is a work in progress. The next stage will be to move to a more detailed scale and prepare new maps for West Africa, the Sahara, East Africa, and the larger countries of the continent - a task that should take several years.

1. Latvia & Riga Travel Reference Map 1:460,000/8,000
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 31.49 $This is a brand new mapping area for ITMB. We have had a map of Riga for years, but not the country of Latvia, which now graces one side of the sheet while Riga occupies the other. The country is larger than one might think, touristically friendly, historically significant, and strategically important. Wedged between Estonia on the north and Lithuania on the south, Latvia tends to be a fast north-south route through the Baltic States, but its strength lies in being an east-west country with a very long coastline. Riga itself is a very interesting city, and our map shows it to perfection. This map would be very useful for anyone going to the Baltic Sea countries and firs very well with our companion map of Estonia/Talinn

Western Digital Europe Rail & Road Travel Reference Map 1:2,500,000
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 20.76 $This is a new title for ITMB. It focusses on the western half of the European land mass at a much better scale than would be possible for all of Europe. Even at this scale, showing the rail lines and the major roads results in a map with a lot of information on it, but it meets the needs of those travelling around Europe by rail, which is its primary market. It can also be used by those driving, although it would be better for vehicle users to rely on individual country maps. Side 1 covers the British Isles, the Low Countries, Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic, most of Poland, and southern Scandinavia. The second side covers the Iberian Peninsula, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Austria, Hungary, and the southern portion of Germany. Trains tend to be used by travellers in Europe for longer trips, say from Frankfurt to Rome, and for this reason our new map should find a good market. There has not been enough room on this map to show many touristically important sites, but where room exists, we have added UNESCO World Heritage sites, major churches, and most international airports. Coverage includes major ferry routes and includes the islands of Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Sardinia, Elba, and Corsica, Sicily, and Malta. As the EU evolves, passenger rail service is increasingly becoming a pan-European reality, but German trains running on French lines and Italian trains going north into Austria. This is a timely map; coming out at the beginning of a truly European rail system. Map size: 27x39 inches

Reykjavik & SW Iceland Travel Reference Map 1:10,000 / 1:330,000
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 3.15 $We are pleased to announce a brand new title for ITMB. Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and is an interesting city in its own right. We have placed it on one side of the sheet and it looks very good. It includes the international airport (the port of entry for almost everyone visiting Iceland) and includes a good range of hotels, which is very necessary, due to the country s booming tourism industry. The central core of the city is well-portrayed and the scale is such as to allow us to impose footprints of all the buildings in the city. We have also added a listing of the top attractions within the city area, such as the largest church in Iceland, the Jonnsson Sculpture Garden, and the historic Old Harbour. The reverse side of the map covers essentially the southwestern quarter of Iceland, from Keflavik in the far west to partway across the vast Vatnajokull Icefield and north to the town of Stykkisholmur. The map shows all known places of accommodation, including youth hostels, and touristic attractions such as the famous Geysir, the volcanic water eruption that occurs every six minutes and is a must see for everyone visiting the country. The map also shows the most popular attractions on the island, including the Golden Circle Route of 300 kms through Pingvellir National Park and the Gullfoss waterfall area. This is an excellent map for those concentrating on this portion of Iceland. We have visited all of these attractions and can guarantee that Iceland is a marvelous travel destination.

Quito & Ecuador Central Travel Ref. Map 4th Ed.
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 31.88 $Finally, ITMB releases its long-awaited re-worked map of the wonderful South American city of Quito. The city is squeezed in between mountain ranges and, the entire city stretches from north (on the right-hand side of the map) to south. The bottom of the map is, actually the eastern portion. A regional inset map clarifies the situation. The street network is clearly shown, along with the rapid line busway and the city s Metro. The Old Town is perhaps the most interesting portion of the city for visitors and is on the left-hand portion of the map. The newer downtown is centred on La Carolina Park on the right-hand side of the map. This is where most of the shopping malls and hotels are located. The old airport is shown in part on the far right, but the new international airport is located far out of town. It is shown on the inset map. The reverse side of the sheet covers all of central Ecuador in a north-south format, from Ibarra in the north to Loja in the south and from Guayaquil in the west to the edge of the vast Amazon jungle. This side also includes inset maps of central Guayaquil and of Isla Santa Cruz. The road network is shown in excellent detail. The country has only one major north-south highway, the Pan-Americano and most of the population lives along the spine of the Andes Mountains. Most visitors combine a trip to Quito with a flight to the fascinating Galapagos Islands (see separate map), which can also be reached from Guayaquil. However, the World Heritage city of Cuenca, in the far south is a treat that should not be missed!

Australia East Coast Travel Reference Map
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 42.11 $This is a brand new title for ITMB and is based on the travel reality that most visitors to Australia concentrate on Queensland and New South Wales. This double-sided map begins at Australia s northernmost point of Cape York and proceeds southward through Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria; in essence covering the portion of the country dominated by Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, all of which are included as largish inset maps. As a bonus, Tasmania is included as a large inset. The scale is generous, making the map easy to read, and while this map will not meet some expectations, 90% of all visitors to Australia concentrate all their travel within the limits of this map. Why get a map of all of Australia if you re only visiting the eastern area?

Pyrenees & Andorra Travel Reference Map 1:450,000/1:40,000
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 2.19 $We have transformed our specialized map of Andorra into a more practical map covering the Pyrenees mountain chain straddling the border between France and Germany on one side, with historic Andorra on the other side. As is normal with ITMB maps combining two areas at different scales, the map has two covers, so can be marketed equally well as Andorra or as Pyrenees! Our coverage of the Pyrenees goes from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean coastlines and from Toulouse to Barcelona, so includes Pamplona in Basque Country, Huesca, Catalunya, and Girona in Spain, as well as Beziers and lovely Carcassonne in France. The other side is a completely redesigned map of the Principality of Andorra and is the only map of this interesting mini-state available today. This side also includes an excellent inset map of the only city in the country, Andorra La Vella. Andorra is known as a winter ski area par excellence, but is also a huge duty-free area year round. It has survived political turmoil for centuries by playing off France against Spain and wriggling between the cracks of big-power maneuvering. Perched at the summit of the Pyrenees chain, Andorra is well-worth visiting. 2017 Edition.
