The fourth volume of the Hungarian Atlas of Historic Towns series presents the city of Buda in the Middle Ages and the Ottoman period up to 1686, when the united troops of the Christian polities of Europe took it back from the Ottoman Empire. The atlas is based on my doctoral (PhD) dissertation on the topography of medieval Buda, published in two volumes in 2006 and 2008. This work has been revised and expanded for the current fascicle within the framework of the research project T 046866 of the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA) aimed at the preparation of atlases of historic towns in Hungary.Buda atlasza szerzőjének, Végh Andrásnak „Buda város középkori helyrajza” c. doktori disszertációjára épül.
