Doctrine of Trinity : Christianity's Self-Inflicted Wound
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 3.75 $This important work is a detailed biblical investigation of the relationship of Jesus to the one God of Israel. The authors challenge the notion that biblical monotheism is legitimately represented by a Trinitarian view of God and demonstrate that within the bounds of the canon of Scripture Jesus is confessed as Messiah, Son of God, but not God Himself. Later Christological developments beginning in the second century misrepresented the biblical doctrine of God and Christ by altering the terms of the biblical presentation of the Father and Son. This fateful development laid the foundation of a revised, unscriptural creed that needs to be challenged. This book is likely to be a definitive presentation of a Christology rooted, as it originally was, in the Hebrew Bible. The authors present a sharply-argued appeal for an understanding of God and Jesus in the context of the original Christian documents. LA PASTICHE Forest, 1903 by Edvard Munch Studio Black Wood Framed Nature Oil Painting Art Print 21.5 in. x 25.5 in.
Vendor: Homedepot.com Price: 18.85 $1903 like so many years was 1-of crisis in the life of Edvard Munch. In the months prior he had been called to the side of a lover under threat of suicide and found himself missing 2-joints from his ring finger after a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound. The lover left him and he escaped to Germany where he would work on comissioned portraits of the children of a wealthy patron and admirer. He also painted several landscapes around this time of which this is one. Despite their brightness the yellows seem sickly and the sky is a ghastly purple-white. From foreground to background we see trees begin branchless become full and return again to a barren state. Munch balances ambiguous sweeps of color with divisory geometric lines and planes to create a rich and intriguing interpretation of the landscape. Our artist has taken care to recreate the values of this paintings palette and composition so that this troubled Norwegians master works can be made available to art lovers everywhere. Frame. Description Studio Black Wood Frame. Color: Green.

Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 425.00 $574 pages. Wraps, illus., notes on sources, glossary, index. Inscribed by the author. Signed copies are very scarce. Foreword by Congresswoman Maxine Waters. The author, a Pulitzer Prize-winner, died in December 2004, from two gunshot wounds to the head, said to be self-inflicted. This work was based upon a 20, 000 word, three-part investigative series published by the San Jose Mercury, which alleged that Nicaraguan drug traffickers had sold and distributed crack cocaine in Los Angeles during the 1980's, and that the drug profits were used to fund the CIA-supported Nicaraguan Contras. Drawing on declassified CIA documents and extensive interviews with drug dealers and drug lords, Webb reported on the corruption and ultimate responsibility of the CIA for the drug trafficking that plagues the United States.

Beyond Harm: Toward Justice, Healing and Peace
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 27.37 $We have all been hurt by someone, in some cases very seriously. And we have all inflicted pain on someone else, even if it was unintended. The consequences have often been devastating, and continue to this day. We find ourselves 'stuck' in anger, fear, isolation, disbelief, bitterness, self-blame, denial, guilt, shame . . . the list is all too familiar. Our friends and family plead with us to 'move on' and 'put the past behind us'. But it's never that simple. There is no 'magic wand' that can instantly sweep away this kind of pain.So what can we do? How can we find some peace? Is it possible to heal from what has happened? Would some kind of punishment make a difference? Do we need to forgive? Would an apology help? How can we find a way out of this agonising hurt and negativity? Will it ever be possible to 'make things right'?Beyond Harm explores all of these questions, and offers a way forward. The first Part looks at what it means to be wronged, and why it hurts so much. It sets out an explanation for why we react to wrongdoing in the ways that we do, so many of which only cause us more suffering and pain. And it offers an alternative: a kind of 'justice' that can bring the healing and peace that we crave. This is a response that honours our moral values and acknowledges our common humanity. It is also evidence-based: it takes seriously how we actually think and feel about wrongdoing. The second Part builds on the first by exploring what it would take for this alternative to become a reality. It shows how it is possible to 'make things right' by using a tried and tested practice called 'restorative justice', and what is needed for this approach to be safe and effective.

Homeland Siege: Tactics for Police and Military
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 7.67 $America is still in serious trouble. There's no way all of her internal problems have been self-inflicted. Yet, many still believe: (1) ISIS and al-Qaeda are her only foes; (2) her intelligence agencies see every threat coming; and (3) her military is the best in the world at all things. This book reassesses the breakdown from a "bottom-up" perspective, as that's how Islamists, Communists, and criminals like to take over. The tiniest of clues have been collected to arrive at the most likely suspect. Such "qualitative research" is regularly used by U.S. police departments. Even "modus operandi" links to past behavior are allowed in all U.S. courts of law. After detailing the subversion, this book shows how to better combat it at street level. With kidnappings on the rise in Phoenix, it contains the most extensive study of hostage rescue ever attempted and a safer way for grunts and SWATs to quickly seize any contested building.
