In Chad's version of the Bible of Taoism I am also impressed. I appreciate his Introduction very much. He gives a brief but illuminating overview of the history of the TTC and adds some pertinent information about various schools of thought that held sway at about the same time as its probable writing. Where rational understanding is concerned, context is king. He also adds a short dictionary of some of the key concepts found in the TTC that will aid the uninitiated in getting off to a good start on their way through the TTC. Everything about this version of the TTC is first class. I am glad that I added it to my library.(Amazon customer)
