Biographie de l'auteur Arnaud Maurières et Eric Ossart sont paysagistes. Ils travaillent essentiellement en France et dans le Bassin méditerranéen. Au cours de leurs voyages, ils se sont passionnés pour les textiles ruraux de l'Afrique du Nord, du Proche-Orient et du Yémen. Ils ont acquis, en une quinzaine d'années, plus d'un millier de tapis, ornements de palanquins, éléments de tentes et vêtements, constituant ainsi l'une des plus riches collections de tissages de ces régions. Après l'organisation de plusieurs expositions thématiques et la publication des catalogues associés, c'est à l'initiative du Musée Bargoin de Clermont-Ferrand que cette collection est entrée en intégralité dans le domaine public à fin d'études spécialisées et de présentations didactiques. Christine Bouilloc est directrice du musée Bargoin de Clermont-Ferrand et spécialiste des textiles. Elle a collaboré de nombreuses fois avec Arnaud Maurières et Eric Ossart pour la conception d'expositions de référence, dont certaines ont été présentées à l'étranger. Marie-Bénédicte Seynhaeve est chargée des collections textiles au musée Bargoin de Clermont-Ferrand. Après des études supérieures d'histoire de l'art à l'Ecole du Louvre, elle s'est spécialisée dans l'étude des textiles ethnographiques et de leurs techniques.
