Das vorliegende Buch geht aus einer Wahl vorlesung hervor, die ich seit 1986 an der Fachhochschule Munchen halte. Es wendet sich an Studierende der Fachrichtungen Nachrich- tentechnik, Metechnik und Informatik, und an bereits in der Industrie tatige Ingenieure, die einen Einblick in das moderne Gebiet der digitalen Signalverarbeitung ge- winnen wollen. Als Voraussetzung fur das Verstandnis des Textes genugt die Kenntnis der Integral- und Differentialrechnung und der komplexen Wechselstromrechnung. Bei der digitalen Signalverarbeitung werden analoge Si- gnale abgetastet und im Analog-Digital-Wandler in eine binare Zahlenfolge umgesetzt. Durch numerische Verarbei- tung dieser Zahlenfolge lassen sich lineare und nichtli- neare Prozesse, wie z. B. Filterung, Fourieranalyse, Modulation, Demodulation und Gleichrichtung realisieren. Im Digital-Analog-Wandler kann die veranderte Zahlenfolge schlielich wieder in ein analoges Signal umgewandelt werden. Auf Grund der digitalen Verarbeitung sind diese Systeme unempfindlich gegen Anderungen der Bauelementewerte, der Temperatur und Versorgungsspannung und gegen Storungen und Alterung. Die Eigenschaften eines Systems konnen in kurzen Zeitabstanden verandert werden. Adaptive Systeme, die sich schnell an neue Situationen anpassen mussen, sind nur digital zu realisieren. Die erreichbare Genauig- keit hangt von der Anzahl der zur ZahlendarsteIlung ver- wendeten BinarsteIlen ab. 4 In diesem Buch werden einfuhrend die Verfahren zur Be- schreibung analoger (zeitkontinuierlicher) Signale und Systeme kurz erlautert: Fourieranalyse, Fourier- und La- placetransformation, Faltung, Korrelation.

It was the last book the outstanding mathematician, mechanician and lecturer S. G. Mikhlin took an active part in writing. Having been completed during his lifetime, this book could not be published in Russia due to well- know difficulties. Since that time new results in integral equations of elasticity theory have appeared. The works of W. Wendland and his school on numerical methods of solving boundary integral equations, the works of I. Chudinovich on inves- tigation of non-stationary integral equations, the works of S. Kuznetsov con- nected with the construction of the fundamental solutions for anisotropic me- dia and others deserve special mentioning. The authors recognize that though the book is devoted to integral equations of elasticity theory, its contents do not cover all possible directions in this field. So the book does not contain the investigations of pseudo-differential equations of three-dimensional prob- lems of elasticity theory, connected with the works of R. Goldstein, I. Klein, G. Eskin; the questions of solving by integral transformations (I. Ufland, L. Slepian, B. Buda. e: v); the theory of symbols of pseudo-differential operators on non-smooth surfaces developed in the works of B. Plamenevski et al. and the new methods of numerical solution of pseudo-differential equations as developed by a school of V. Mazya. The present book gives the classical methods of potential theory in elas- ticity and their development and also the solution of a number of problems which here are published in English for the first time.

Dieses Buch basiert auf Vorlesungen, die ich in den letzten Jahren an der Technischen Universität Braunschweig hielt. Es soll dazu dienen, die Eigenschaften von (überwiegend) nichtnu- merischen parallelen Algorithmen, die in Zellularautomaten imple- mentierbar sind, anhand von charakteristischen Beispielen deutlich zu machen und dabei die hauptsächlich verwandten der bisher ent- wickelten Methoden aufzuzeigen. Es wird dabei weder versucht, Voll- ständigkeit zu erreichen, noch wird der Anspruch erhoben, eine aus- gearbeitete Theorie vorzustellen. Auch auf Aufwandsfragen (Zeit- und Zustandskomplexität) wird nur gelegentlich eingegangen. Bedingt durch die aUßerordentlich schnelle Entwicklung der Mikroprozessor- technik rückt m.E. der breite Einsatz von Arraycomputern näher; da Zellularautomaten als 1-1odelle von ihnen aufgefaßt werden können, hoffe ich, mit dieser Zusammenstellung auf die sich ergebenden Mög- lichkeiten aufmerksam zu machen. Vor der Darstellung der parallelen Algorithmen werden in einem Ka- pitel einige Methoden der Standardisierung zellularer Räume be- schrieben; dies soll dem mit dem Gebiet nicht vertrauten Leser ein Gefühl für Grenzen und Fähigkeiten zellularer Automaten vermitteln und ihn in die Arbeitsweise tiefer einführen. Die relativ zahlreichen Hinweise auf weiterführende Arbeiten und auf in diesem Rahmen nicht behandelte Themen sollen eine Einord- nung der angegebenen Resultate in das Gesamtgebiet erleichtern hel- fen und Anreize zur weiteren Beschäftigung damit geben.

The eight volumes of the Grammatici Latini, published by Teubner between 1855 and 1880 under the general editorship of Heinrich Keil (1822-1894), are an outstanding monument of nineteenth-century German philology. Keil published editions of Propertius and of Pliny's letters before turning to the works of the Latin grammarians, whose attempts to define and describe their own language have influenced the way in which modern researchers in language and linguistics have approached their discipline. Keil's only predecessor in this field was Helias Putsch, who in 1605 published Grammaticae Latinae auctores antiqui; Keil uses the same order in which to present his versions of the texts. The third volume contains the last six books of Priscian's Institutiones Grammaticae and Priscian's minor works.

All?impegno e alla competenza il F. unisce un sano iudicium, che rende efficace il suo lavoro di vaglio. Credo che, in complesso, l?edizione critica del Barber sia più attendibile, ma quella del F. Le può stare dignitosamente accanto; in qualche caso egli sceglie meglio del cauto e acuto editore inglese. Chi oggi voglia leggere, nella misura concessaci dai fati (misura non ampia), un testo attendibile di Properzio, farà bene a tener presenti ambedue queste edizione critiche e, per le lezioni dei codici umanistici, quella dello Hanslik.?
