Franklin County, PA has a gold mine of quilts. That awareness inspired the documentation project that led to the publication of this volume. The purpose of the project was to identify and preserve the quilting traditions that we knew existed in the area. The Chambersburg Quilt Guild, Inc., of Chambersburg, PA sponsored the documentation project and hopes to have successfully captured the essence of quiltmaking in the county through photos and narrative.
