The studio, founded by Pascal Sebah, experienced its golden age during its partnership with Polycarpe Joaillier. It soon became the most important photography studio within the Ottoman Empire turning into a worldwide brand, by introducing to the world the attractive mysterious oriental cityscapes, buildings, street types and many outdoor beauties and was honored with several awards in international fairs. The magnificent heritage of the Sebah&Joaillier Photography Studio is brought to light in this book thanks to the collection of Fabrizio Casaretto, grandson of the Joaillier family.
