The Lobsang Pun Novels: The Thunder Dragon Gate & Old Ugly-Face
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 91.75 $High adventure on the roof of the world At the age of sixteen British author Talbot Mundy (William Lancaster Gribbon) ran away from home and travelled extensively through India, Africa, the Middle East and the Orient-an experience that stood him in good stead as he later crafted his bestselling novels. During this time he made his living as a petty criminal and confidence trickster. By the time he was twenty nine he had changed his name to Talbot Mundy, was living in the United States of America and had embarked on a writing career. He was well known as an author of novels with recurring characters and among his best known creations are Tros of Samothrace, Jimgrim and the principal character of the two novels in this Leonaur two-in-one edition-Lobsang Pun. 'The Most Reverend Lobsang Pun,' known to all as 'Old Ugly Faces,' is a mystical monk of venerable age, who lives in Tibet, a magical land of forbidden places and secret mountain fastnesses. 'The Thunder Dragon's Gate,' the first novel here, is a high-spirited tale of heroic adventure featuring Tom Grayne and an audience pleasing fantastical creature or two for good measure. In 'Old Ugly Face,' also featuring Tom Grayne, the Dalai Lama has died and the traditional search to find the new incarnation has begun, but Lobsang Pun intends to influence events in the interests of cosmic balance and world sanity. These high ideals are, of course, wrapped up in an absorbing story of love, jealousy, international intrigue, treachery, adversity and daring-do. This is an excellent opportunity for collectors to possess both Lobsang Pun novels in one substantial special edition. Leonaur editions are newly typeset and are not facsimiles; each title is available in softcover and hardback with dustjacket; our hardbacks are cloth bound and feature gold foil lettering on their spines and fabric head and tail bands.

LOBSANG RAMPA, WILL FIND THIS GREATLY EXPANDED UPDATED WORK TO BE A MOST REWARDING VENTURE INTO A FROZEN LAND OF MYSTERY AND INTRIGUE. TURN BACK THE PAGES OF TIME FOR A VISIT TO THE SHADOWS OF THE GLOOMY EAST -- A LAND THAT HAS JUST IN MODERN DECADES STARTED TO BRIGHTEN! UNHOLY SPIRITS IN THE GLOOMY EAST? DISCOVER THE MYSTERIOUS 'DARK SIDE OF OCCULTISM IN OLD RUSSIA The officially atheistic government of Russia tried its best to cover up such embarrassing transgressions against the State. They did not want to be associated with these throwbacks, with what they saw as primitive paganism. Rumors of executions and forced exile in Siberia kept interest to a minimum, yet accounts of devil worship and involvement with other Black Arts did not subside. In fact, they persisted and often grew in importance. . There was proof that the now unorthodox, but formerly "traditional," schools of religion and occultism had been preserved and their prescriptions and "superstitious" practices, having endured through the centuries, were being handed down from generation to generation, though typically there was a great deal of secrecy associated with them. The Sorcerers were thought of as being older people who possessed the secret science of curing men and animals of diseases, of appeasing demons whenever they waxed into a great fury, of staunching blood, freeing insect-infested dwellings of vermin, de-haunting houses, tracking horse thieves, invoking the souls of the dead, foretelling the future and discovering hidden underground treasures. The Wizards, Witches, Shamans, and Hags were performing what seemed like "miracles," and so a noted Polish-born scientist, activist and explorer, who had gained a reputation as a believer in reincarnation and cloistered underground cities like Agharta, went on a quest throughout Mother Russia to ascertain the truth about all matters involving the occult.

Memoirs of a Tibetan Lama
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 24.66 $A Tibetan patriot and unswerving follower of the Dalai Lama, Lobsang Gyatso emerges from these memoirs as a master storyteller, a fearless social critic, and a devoted Buddhist monk. With unusual wit and realism, he provides a picture of his country from the perspective of a common Tibetan, recounting his early life in Kham as a herder and a rambunctious young monk, his travels to Lhasa, his life in one of Tibet’s most famous monasteries, and his flight into exile. Outspoken and critical of both himself and his society, Lobsang Gyatso’s memoirs tell the story of his struggle for personal religious transformation and his fight to create a new vision for his country.

The Easy Path
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 27.42 $The First Panchen Lama's Easy Path (de lam), written nearly four hundred years ago, is like a chest of jewels that has, until now, been locked to English speakers. This translation, with Gyumed Khensur Lobsang Jampa's commentary, unlocks that chest and holds each jewel up to the sunlight to reveal its great beauty and value.A number of books in the past have explained how to meditate on the stages of the path, but Geshe Lobsang Jampa's volume is unique in showing the reader how to integrate visualizations from highest yoga tantra, guru yoga, and the instructions of the oral tradition within the contemplations of every single stage. From the initial meditations on the precariousness and immense value of human existence, through the contemplations of how we perpetuate the cycle of suffering, to the highest teachings on the practice of universal compassion and the empty nature of phenomena, The Easy Path leads practitioners step by step through the journey to enlightenment.

My Visit To Venus
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 31.87 $New Saucerian proudly presents "My Visit to Venus," the rarest of T. Lobsang Rampa's books. It was rescued from the dustbin by Gray Barker, who provides an excellent introduction in this fine reprint. Until now, "My Visit to Venus" was very difficult to find, and very expensive. Finally, this wonderful period piece of ufology has been made available to the general public. According to Barker, who first published the book in the 1960s, Rampa's claim that his body had been taken over by a Tibetan Buddhist monk was in no way disproved. In fact, Barker provides a letter from a Tibetan Buddhist scholar stating that Rampa's writings about the inner workings of Tibetan Buddhism were quite accurate, and actually revealed closely guarded secrets of the Himalayan monasteries. Knowing this, how does one interpret Rampa's claim to have seen a "time travel" machine buried deep in a mountain cavern, or his claim to have interacted with ufos and their occupants? If the material in this book is in any way accurate, it sheds a shocking and revealing light on our ancient past, as well as our genetic history.
