The Rigveda and The Avesta: The Final Evidence
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 25.00 $By analyzing the ancient texts in full detail, this book establishes the relative chronology of the Rigveda vis-à-vis the Avesta and the Mitanni inscriptions; the geography of the Rigveda; the internal chronology of the (different parts of) the Rigveda; and, finally, the first steps in the establishment of the absolute chronology of the Rigveda, i.e. the actual point of time BCE when the hymns of the text were composed. Moroever, it presents linguistic evidence for the Indian Homeland hypothesis as the only one that explains all the linguistic problems arising in the course of the quest for the Original Homeland. The Rigveda: A Historical Analysis
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 20.00 $Language: EnglishPages: 544About the Book Shrikant Talageri is one of those scholars who have come forward in recent years to challenge the colonial-missionary model imposed on world history during the era of Western-Christian imperialism. In his earlier book, The AryanInvasion Theory: A Reappraisal, he had conclusively established that India was the original homeland of the Indo-European family of languages. In the present volume, he has confirmed equally emphatically that India was also the original homeland not only of the lndo-Aryans but also of the Indo-Iranians and the Indo- Europeans. The Rigveda is the oldest and most important source of material for Indian, Indo-Aryan, and even Indo-European history. It is a text which has been part of a hoary and widespread living tradition thousands of years old. Naturally, a text which has remained alive, as part of a living tradition, for so long cannot and should not be analysed without reference to what that tradition has to say about it. But modern scholars have chosen to interpret the Rigveda in its historical context, solely on the basis of an extraneous linguistic theory, bolstered by stray sentences hunted out of the Rigveda and interpreted out of context, and totally without reference to certain indispensable and unassailable traditional information contained in certain basic texts. Tills is how the theory of an Aryan invasion of India in the early second millennium BC has been propounded and continues to be propped up, even though it finds no support whatsoever either in archaeology, or in literature, or in the racial-ethnical composition of India. Near Eastern Deities in the Rigveda
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 41.72 $This book begins with a deep appreciation for the labor and devotion of all the 19th and early 20th century European scholars who made the Rigveda known to the world. Yet, questions kept lingering: why the Rigveda doesn't have anything entailing Indian prehistory, culture, or of historical India? Who were the people for whose benefit certain sacrificers arranged elaborate festivities, most often participated by gods, so that hymns were composed to please them? The questions remained unanswered as the context of the entire Rigveda was assumed to be mythical or obscure. The Near Eastern sources of Indian Desi words made it possible to identify that it is the lack of context of the Rigveda, more than the obscurity of the language that had been the stumbling block in understanding it. Ancient Indian names were all titular and toponymic. In fact, all names, Sanskrit or Pali, Rigvedic or Puranic, were geo-ethnic in the sense, like Biblical names, both ethnic and personal names were made after the name of a place which could be a country or city, but usually a state. This property has been exploited to its fullest extent, and in doing so, this book answers the above questions, and brings coordination with later Indian literature Epic-Puranas. The book is aimed at understanding the Rigveda deities on the basis of Ancient Near Eastern place names in all available Near Eastern sources from inscription to books with historical and geographical data. It leads to the conclusion that the Rigveda deities are neither Indo-Aryan / Indo-European nor unique to the Rigveda. They are all well known Near Eastern deities except their names. The book opens up a number of new dimensions and should serve as a stepping stone for further research in many related fields of study.

Die Dialoglieder im altindischen Rigveda, Kommentar unter besonderer Berücksichtigung textlinguistischer Kriterien [first edition]
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 10.34 $PHILOLOGIA - Sprachwissenschaftliche Forschungsergebnisse, Band 116 488 pages.

The Central Philosophy of the Rgveda : The Concept of Divine
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 30.00 $Rigveda, a collection of hymns which are primarily prayers and praises addressed to various deities, is a religious/spiritual classic which influenced the formation and development of Indian way of life and culture. The concept of divine is central to it. The meaning of divine though has undergone significant changes in the long history of Hinduism depending upon its interaction with other world religions, the basic Vedic idea of divine still remains central to the Hindu concept of divine or God. In this work we discuss mainly the meaning of divine and the mode of its revelation to the seers of the Rigveda in the state of divinely inspired devotion. This is what the Veda reveals or says about itself. To understand this claim of the Veda requires a deep understanding of the Vedic symbolism employed in communicating the meaning of divine inspiration. The seer-poets resort to symbolic use of language to communicate their vision of the divine, the birth of divine consciousness in them and its expression in the form of hymns. By closely following the text of the Rigveda, one can understand the symbolic use of certain words, and appreciate the meaning of the Veda which would otherwise be highly obscure and utterly unintelligible. Unless we understand the meaning of divine and the mode of its revelation to the Vedic seers it is difficult to understand and appreciate the meaning of the Veda or to interpret it. The Veda in its literary form comes into existence when the divinely inspired devotion is expressed in the form of prayer or hymns. When divine inspiration is offered back to the divine in the form of prayer and praise, human life finds its supreme fulfilment, and its attitude to world or nature gets transformed into one of reverence and worship.

Veiling Brilliance: Journey to the Goddess
