Eduardo Torres Acosta Quota Nave ist ein in Holz gereifter ökologischer Rotwein von Eduardo Torres Acosta. Eine ursprüngliche Coupage aus den Sorten Nerello Mascalese, Garnacha Tinta, Grecanico Dorato, Carricante und Coda di Volpe, hergestellt in der IGT Terre Siciliana (Sizilien).    Eduardo Torres Acosta ist ein kühner Önologe, der nach der Arbeit mit seinem Vater in der Welt des Weins in seiner Heimat Teneriffa nach Sizilien gezogen ist, um von Pionieren des modernen Weinbaus wie Arianna Ochipinti und Passopisciaro zu lernen. In der sizilianischen Gegend des Ätna begann er 2014, seine eigenen Weine mit begrenzter Produktion zu vinifizieren, als Ergebnis einer ökologischen und wenig interventionistischen Arbeitsweise.   Eduardo Torres Acosta Quota Nave stammt aus einem 0,5 Hektar großen Weinberg auf einer Höhe von 1.070 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel. Es sind 80 bis 100 Jahre alte Reben, die in sandigen, vulkanischen Böden gepflanzt sind und wie echte Juwelen behandelt werden. Einheimische Sorten, die aufgegeben und von Eduardo mit 100 % ökologischer Arbeit zurückgewonnen wurden.    Sobald die Trauben des Eduardo Torres Acosta Quota Nave von Hand gelesen wurden, werden sie im Weinkeller spontan mit einheimischen Hefen, einem Minimum an Schwefel und ohne Temperaturkontrolle in Betontanks fermentiert. Danach reift der Wein 12 Monate in Fudern und der Abstich ist minimal, um das Eindringen von CO2 zu vermeiden.    Eduardo Torres Acosta Quota Nave stammt aus einer Parzelle, die an einer Bergstraße namens Nave liegt, deren Höhe die vom DOC Etna Rosso festgelegten Grenzwert überschreitet. Er ist ein frischer, reiner und charaktervoller Wein, der im Rahmen der IGT Terre Siciliana hergestellt wird.

This labour intensive industry requires relatively low skilled workers and little fixed capital to establish production facilities. In consequence, the textile and clothing industry was one of the main sectors of economic growth at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in developed countries and is of particular significance for developing countries at present. The objective of this paper is to outline the case of quotas on the import of textiles and clothing and to contribute to the ongoing debate by assessing the issue from different perspectives. An overview about the textile and clothing sector in the 2nd chapter will clarify its structure, characteristics and recent patterns in international trade. On this background, chapter 3 will identify reasons for the implementation of the quotas and outline their historic emergence from the 1950s to the ATC, followed by a critical evaluation of their impacts. The 4th chapter will assess anticipated and actual post ATC-effects on both developed and developing countries. Special attention will be paid to the particular case of China. Furthermore, chapter 4 will describe the respective reactions of various interest groups, and outline the recently reinstalled safeguard measures of both the EU and the USA. Chapter 5 will come forward with some observations and suggestions as regards possibilities to cope with the intense competition for producers of textiles and clothing in both industrialised and developing countries. Chapter 6 will close this paper with a final conclusion.

The purpose of this study is to investigate legislation and leading cases concerning positive discrimination in the European Union, with a particular focus on the recent debate about the most radical positive action measure: the implementation of women’s quotas by supranational legislation. This study seeks to answer the question if such a radical derogation from the equal treatment principle can be tolerated, keeping in mind the fundamental character of this principle in European law. The concept of substantive equality will be analysed and set against the ECJ case law under review. It will be criticised that the ECJ focused once more on a formalist approach and allows for positive action measures only to a very limited extent. If the European Union would impose women’s quotas for board members via supranational legislation, would this still be considered as a measure of positive discrimination or would it rather be a form of negative discrimination against men?
