Garnet red. It presents itself with an impression of small jammy blackberry fruits. This is followed by balsamic-mentholated scents, cocoa powder, liquorice root, spicy suggestions of clove, leather, wet leaves and graphite. In the mouth it is soft and perfectly balanced between freshness and flavour. Great persistence in the finish.

Mosconi is a MGA that is often picked late and so could possibly have benefitted from the warm and dry 20017 vintage. This example from Pio Cesare is focused on elegance with lifted, concentrated aromas and flavours of orange peel, strawberry jam, rose and a touch of smoke, which all become intoxicating on the palate. This great intensity and concentration are supported by firm, muscular tannins and an assertive finish, combined with crisp acidity. Rarely in this 2017 vintage do we find tihs combination of fruit weight and strenght of strucutre. (blind tasted by Aldo Fiordelli)

Ruby tending towards garnet. Cornucopia overflowing with intense and deep scents where the tones of rosewater, peony and musk are intertwined with those of ripe berries, bark and pipe tobacco. The taste is enveloping and full with lively and well-distributed tannins. It began its long journey through time.

Since 2017 vintage exclusively from a small selection of Barbera grapes coming from the oldest vines of our Family-owned Mosconi vineyard in Monforte dAlba. Fides, or faith in Latin, continues to represent the great longtime faith of our Family in the Barbera grapes planted and grown in very prestigious areas. Since the 2017 vintage Fides has been enriched by Vigna Mosconi and Barbera dAlba Superiore appellations.

Our Barolo Monforte is obtained from two important Crus with opposite characteristics. Mosconi is in fact a vineyard that brings volume and depth, thanks to its soil and warmer exposure, while Castelletto gives the blend a more tense and linear character, and more aromatic notes thanks to its cooler exposure.

Made from Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in vineyards in villages of Ornati and Mosconi in Monforte d'Alba.
