Don't Dream: the Collected Horror and Fantasy of Donald Wandrei. Edited By Philip J. Rahman and Dennis E. Weiler. [first edition]
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 50.00 $Fritz Leiber remarked "At the time that Lovecraft died, Donald Wandrei was the most natural successor to him that I could think of."Robert Bloch called him ..".on of the most important creative talents in the Lovecraft circle..."Surpisingly, however, his work was out-of-print for many years, after his break with Arkham House in the aftermath of co-founder August Derleth. This 416-page tome includes stories originally published in venues including Weird Tales, Astounding Stories, Fantasy Magazine, Argosy, and Esquire; some from The Minnesota Quarterly, and a number of pieces never published before this book was assembled. Here the reader can revel in the weird imagination of Donald Wandrei without collecting dozens of rare and scattered pulps or buying rare Arkham House volumes. Supplemented by non-fiction discussion by those who knew him, and introduced by the author's neighbor, Don't Dream complements Colossus (Wandrei's science fiction-- though the boundaries were fuzzy during the Golden Age!) to form a broad survey-- arguably the best of his fiction.

Arnoldus Gheyloven Roterodamus. Gnotosolitos parvus e codice Seminarii Leodiensis 6 F 18 editus. Cura et studio Anton G. Weiler.
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 176.83 $Hardcover (orange cloth). CLXXVII+642 pp., 155 x 245 mm. Languages: Latin, English. "Corpus Christianorum Continuatio Mediaevalis (CCCM 212)" Price when new: EUR 350,00. As new. Arnold Gheyloven (c. 1375/1420) was born in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). He studied liberal arts in Vienna, and canon law in Bologna and Padua. Around 1407 he joined the regular canons of the Windesheim monastery at Groenendaal near Brussels. He composed c. 30 works, among which the Gnotosolitos parvus ('Small Know Yourself'), which text has been preserved in one single manuscript (Liège, Bibliothèque du Grand Séminaire 6 F 18). Gheyloven wrote this text for students, preparing themselves for the priesthood in a paedagogium at Louvain or with the Brethren of the Common Life in Deventer. This Summa of moral theology, canon law, and spirituality shows what these young men had to learn with regard to faith and morals, the sacraments and the works of charity. Acting as confessors, they were supposed to pass on these moral senses to their penitents, in the century before the Reformation. 1800g

The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ: An Illustrated History [first edition]
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 354.00 $The author, Jeff Weiler, died before this book was completed, which was to be the third and final volume of his popular trilogy, The Encyclopedia of the American Theatre Organ. The book would be devoted entirely to pipe organs built between 1910 and 1943 by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Manufacturing Company of North Tonawanda, New York. The original transcript captions, footnotes, and annotated opus list - all painstakingly crafter - had been carefully organized and filed. In addition, thousands of illustrations had been reviewed, selected and cataloged. Had Junchen been any less fastidious in documenting the project, reconstruction of this book would not have been possible.

Gun Church
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 32.00 $Once a literary wunderkind, author Kip Weiler now teaches creative writing at Brixton County Community College—a third-rate school in a rural mining town. But when he saves his class from a potential bloodbath, he is initiated by two of his students into a cult-like group that worships the essential nature of handguns, and rekindles his long-absent creative spark. But as Weiler's involvement with the cult deepens and the end of his novel is in sight, the lines between art and life blur until they become unrecognizable. In this church, there's no need for red wine or wafers. In Gun Church, the blood and bodies are for real.

Environmental and Genetic Causes of Autism
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 26.34 $The Environmental and Genetic Causes of Autism delves deep into the full body of past and current research to reveal how genetic predispositions and environmental factors can combine to produce the conditions autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).To make this groundbreaking volume, Dr. James Lyons-Weiler combed through the past fifty years of published research on autism, exploring subjects such as genetic variation, mechanisms of neurotoxicity of metals and pesticides, and the central and combined roles of each in causing autism.Lyons-Weiler provides a major overview of all aspects of the condition of autism, reviews changes in diagnoses and treatments, and explains how genetic information can be used to tailor effective treatments, and sometimes reversals, of the symptoms. He also presents practical forward-looking suggestions on how to design future studies to facilitate the discovery of biomarkers for autism risk and how to classify the full range of autism spectrum disorders.Autism is considered one of the most mystifying conditions of our day, and alarmed scientists, doctors, politicians, and parents are desperately trying to understand why the condition is escalating. According to the CDC, rates in the United States have risen from an estimated one in two thousand children in 1980, to one in sixty-eight in 2012, and a new National Health Interview Survey shows a rate of one in forty-five. By the time you read this book, that number may have changed yet again. While most autism researchers focus on either environmental or genetic causes of autism, Lyons-Weiler’s opus demonstrates that to fully understand the condition and to finally put its rate on the decrease, it is essential to pay attention to the science showing how the two classes of factors interact.
