However, rather than taking part in the battle, the sailors would have been interested in the wine cellar of the proliferating valleys. The goodness of the product, the Buttafuoco, would have mitigated the souls of the imperial soldiers that were more easily inclined to peace operations rather than war.

It was already present in 1500 in the hills around Piacenza and Pavia, even though the vine we know today is likely to come from the French one. Grown in marly-calcareous soils like those of Lombardy and Piedmont, it has all the characteristics of a demanding vintage to deal with; in fact, even in the cellar, an excellent knowledge of its characteristics is necessary to exalt its aromas.
