Produttori di Manduria "1932" Primitivo Rosato Salento IGT 2023 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.15 £ (+0.69 £)Fresh and fragrant. Produced by the Produttori di Manduria, a historic Apulian winery renowned for its Primitivo wine. We are talking about Salento IGT Rosato Primitivo 1932. Although Primitivo is famous for its full-bodied reds, in Apulia it is also successfully used to create rosés with a distinct freshness and unique elegance. And the area of Manduria, in the province of Taranto, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Primitivo, thanks to a sunny, breezy climate and calcareous, clayey soils that give the finished wine an intense flavour and mineral notes. To achieve the desired colour and aromatic profile, the Primitivo grapes undergo a short maceration on the skins, followed by a temperature-controlled white fermentation. This allows the Produttori di Manduria to extract the grape's typical aromas while maintaining the freshness and lightness typical of rosé. After fermentation, the wine is then refined in steel tanks and in the bottle before release. Deep and bright pink in colour, this Made in Salento rosé reveals a delicately fruity, fragrant and full bouquet, with notes reminiscent of cherry and small red fruits. In the mouth it is fresh and savoury, with a pleasant softness that makes it balanced and versatile. Designed to be consumed young, the Salento IGT Rosato Primitivo 1932 plays all its pleasantness on the freshness and intensity of the fruit. Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with a classic fish menu, shellfish and summer dishes.

Produttori di Manduria Primitivo Rosato Salento IGP Notte Rossa 2023 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 11.00 £ (+0.69 £)It's probably suggestive. But the colour of this wine is really reminiscent of the coral that decorates its label. It is called Aka and it is a Salento IGT rosé, produced with pure Primitivo grapes. Bunches of grapesfrom very old plants that reach over 40 years of age. Historic vineyards that produce little but mostly produce well. After the harvest, which usually takes place towards the end of August, the grapes are quickly brought to the cellars and sent to a maceration phase that lasts about 8 - 12 hours. Conventional wisdom calls them the "wines of one night". It takes little for the Primitivo to yield that beautiful and evocative nuance of colour. The scent is captivating. Intense notes of fresh cherries, pomegranate, red apple, wild strawberries and raspberry. In the mouth, however, it is a fresh but well-structured wine. Crunchy, we could call it, but also savoury and decidedly (pleasantly) long.

Produttori di Manduria "1932" Fiano Salento IGT 2023 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.15 £The Manduria area in the province of Taranto is best known for its intense reds, such as Primitivo. But Fiano here stands out as an elegant and fresh alternative. We are located in the heart of the Salento region, where the climate can be considered very hot due to a strong exposure to the sun. Fortunately, the relative proximity to the sea creates the perfect conditions for viticulture. The limestone and clay soils, rich in minerals, give the wines excellent structure and elegant freshness. Proposed here by the historic Produttori di Manduria winery, Fiano Salento IGT 1932 is a very pleasant white wine. 100% Fiano, this grape variety, although originally from Campania, has found 'fertile' soil in Apulia to express its qualities to the full. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and, at the end of transformation, ageing takes place in steel tanks. This is followed by bottling and a further resting period in the cellar before marketing. Pale straw yellow in colour, luminous and inviting, the nose reveals an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of sweet peach and citrus fruits mingling with delicate floral hints. In the mouth, it is pleasantly silky and well-structured, with a fine balance between the sweetness of the white peach and the freshness of the citrus fruit. It closes harmoniously and cleanly. Perfect as an aperitif, Fiano Salento IGT 1932 goes well with fish dishes, especially raw seafood, fish carpaccio, shellfish and molluscs.

Devoto Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.25 £ (+0.69 £)Also known as Zinfandel (in California), Primitivo is one of the most widespread grape varieties in Southern Italy. But it is in Apulia, and above all in the Manduria area, that it finds its natural habitat, the territory in which it expresses itself best. A warm and soft red wine, enveloping but never stodgy or intrusive: the notes are those of cherry, blackberry and plum, with sweet spices that intoxicate the sip (thanks also to a good alcohol content). The tannins are there and can be felt, but they are not at all intrusive. An intense but balanced wine, perfect to enjoy with a rich platter of cured meats and mature cheeses. Perhaps when the company is right and you can linger until late, between one glass and another.

Giustini "Ancinorè" Primitivo Manduria DOC 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 20.00 £ (+0.69 £)When the climate becomes hot, as is often the case in Puglia, to cultivate grapes we often resort to the ancient folk wisdom that the vine must grow low, ripening its clusters close to the ground, to benefit from even the slightest coolness from the earth. The traditional espalier system is therefore preferred to the modern espalier. Beautiful to look at and effective in terms of the quality produced. But very, very tiring for those who have to take care of it. Every operation, in fact, must be carried out manually, without the help of any machine. Giustini offers this Acinorè, 'Old Vines'. This is a Primitivo di Manduria DOC, made from grapes cultivated in the Alberello style. A living heritage that the company preserves, protects and is committed to enhancing. Acinorè, in fact, represents the best interpretation of Primitivo proposed by the winery. Harvested - obviously - by hand, after destemming and pressing the maceration period lasts about 15 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation and a long period of maturation in French oak barriques. This reveals a wine characterised by a beautiful, intense ruby red colour, with complex aromas reminiscent of well-ripened red and dark fruit. Then vanilla and even chocolate. In the mouth it is full, soft and balanced. An important red, the kind that requires a dedicated menu. Very tasty first courses and meats subjected to long cooking. This is the only way to do it justice. Or, as a valid alternative, it can also be served away from meals, as a meditation wine.

Produttori di Manduria "1932" Primitivo Salento IGT 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.25 £ (+0.69 £)This typical red wine is a tribute by Produttori di Manduria to one of the symbolic vines of Apulia: Primitivo. This variety, so deeply linked with its territory, owes its name to its early ripening, primitive, in fact. It is known for its intense and generous wines, capable of transmitting the characteristics of the territory in which it is cultivated. And Manduria, in the heart of the province of Taranto, is precisely one of the most vocated areas for the cultivation of Primitivo, thanks to its warm and sunny climate, mitigated by sea breezes. Salento IGT Primitivo 1932 by Produttori di Manduria comes from a careful selection of grapes in the countryside. Once in the winery, fermentation at a controlled temperature starts, followed by ageing in steel tanks. Finally, after bottling, the wine rests for some time in the cellar before being finally put on the market. This Primitivo makes a fine show in the glass thanks to its intense ruby red colour, with violet reflections suggesting its youth. On the nose, an intense and complex bouquet, characterised by aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, plum and blackberry. In the mouth, it is soft and pleasantly fresh, with a fruity flavour reminiscent of the aromas perceived earlier. A young wine, designed to be consumed within a few years after harvesting, it is a good accompaniment to meat dishes such as roasts, grills and stews. Its smoothness and fruity taste make it an excellent choice to accompany traditional Apulian dishes.

Giustini "Areale" Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.35 £ (+0.69 £)Write Primitivo and read Puglia. Yes, because this ancient and much-loved grape variety is actually native to Apulia, so deeply rooted in its territory that it has practically become its symbol. Primitivo is used to produce wines with intense aromas of ripe fruit, such as black cherries, plums and blackberries, and hints of spices such as black pepper and vanilla. A fine example of this is this Areale, which originates from grapes harvested 'between land and sea', in the cradle of DOC Manduria. It is from here that the best Primitivo grapes come, those that best represent the authentic and faithful expression of the varietal. Giustini works his grapes with care and skill, proceeding with maceration and alcoholic fermentation induced by selected yeasts. The process, with constant temperature control, protae for about 10 days. Immediately after racking, the wine is then passed into French oak barriques, where it continues its slow maturation. Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, this Primitivo has scents typical for the variety, with notes of red and dark fruit, such as black cherry, plum and cherry. In the mouth it is pleasantly soft and ample, with elegant tannins, well supported by a pleasant freshness. It is the right wine to accompany roasted and stewed meats, but also first courses with red sauces, rich soups and mature cheeses.

Schola Sarmenti "Chiacchierino" Primitivo Manduria DOC 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Vendor: Svinando.co.uk Price: 1.99 £ (+0.69 £)Schola Sarmenti's Primitivo di Manduria Chiacchierino was born in a vocated land, appreciated for its wines with intense flavours. We are in Manduria, Apulia, a land of robust and complex wines that are born thanks to a sunny climate and an ideal terroir for growing Primitivo. Hot, very hot, dry summers, with days when the temperature is mitigated by a constant sea breeze. Perfect conditions for optimal ripening of the grapes, especially Primitivo, known for its early ripening but capable of producing powerful, structured wines, particularly appreciated for their softness and aromatic richness. In this case, the grapes used for Chiacchierino come from historic vineyards, with vines over 65 years old, still cultivated using the Apulian alberello system, a traditional technique that allows the plants to express their full potential. With about 4,500 plants per hectare and a yield of about 1 kg per plant, production is deliberately limited to guarantee maximum quality. Harvesting is done manually, picking the grapes when fully ripe and delicately placing them in small aerated boxes to preserve the integrity of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine matures for a full 24 months in French oak tonneaux, a process that enriches it with aromas of vanilla and sweet spices, without overpowering the natural fruit intensity of the grapes. This long maturation in wood contributes, however, to giving Chiacchierino a complex and velvety structure. This Primitivo di Manduria has great ageing potential. Over the years, it evolves in an extraordinary way, developing more complex notes of leather, tobacco and chocolate, while retaining its softness and depth. For those who know how to wait, tasting this wine years later will be an unforgettable experience.
