Il distillato “Pure Single Jamaican” è un Rum giamaicano che colpisce sin dai primi istanti della degustazione per il profilo concentrato e ricco. Merito della lenta fermentazione a cui viene sottoposto, in grado di concentrare un alto tasso di esteri, cioè quelle molecole responsabili di aromi e sapori che si avvertono sia al naso che in bocca. Un Rum dunque che potremmo definire “heavy”, anche grazie al periodo superiore ai 7 anni in cui rimane ad affinare lentamente in legno. Una bottiglia per veri appassionati, da riservare alle serate magiche. Il “Pure Single Jamaican” Rum ha origine dalla melassa ricavata dalla selezione precisa e puntuale della migliore canna da zucchero presente all’interno delle piantagioni di proprietà della Hampden Estate. Una volta estratta la melassa, questa viene fatta fermentare molto lentamente, e il processo ha inizio grazie all’innesco effettuato da lieviti selvaggi, senza alcuna aggiunta di additivi. La fase di distillazione si avvale poi di classici alambicchi di rame pot-still, che lavorano con il metodo discontinuo. Al termine di questo processo il Rum che si ottiene viene fatto riposare per almeno 8 anni in botti di rovere, per poi venire finalmente imbottigliato e commercializzato. Rum “Pure Single Jamaican” si annuncia alla vista con un colore ambrato molto intenso, dotato di una bella luce brillante. Intenso e stratificato il naso, che risulta orchestrato su note ampie di frutta, alternate a tocchi di agrumi canditi e sensazioni che riportano al miele. All’assaggio è di ottimo corpo, ricco e morbido al palato grazie a un sorso gustoso e saporito, che si presenta con una notevole persistenza. Hampden Estate, distilleria che affonda le radici all’interno del terroir giamaicano addiritttura dal 1753, presenta un’etichetta intensa ed espressiva, perfetta per allietare le conversazioni del dopo cena.

Ottenuto dalla distillazione in alambicco discontinuo, presso la distilleria Habitation Estate, in Jamaica. Invecchiato per ben 7 anni al clima tropicale, per poi essere imbottigliato a pieno grado dalla botte. Alla vista si mostra di un colore ambrato vivido, tipici aromi di paraffina, mitigata da aromi dolci di banana matura e caramello, per finire con note di legno tostato. Al palato persiste il fruttato, di frutta esotica, che si sviluppa in un gusto piacevole ed equilibrato, con un finale dolce e fruttato.
